Modular & Prefab Building

Malapa designs its camps and tented structures as building systems: components are manufactured off-site, packed for transport and assembled on site by small local teams, often in weeks rather than months.

What does prefabricated mean for a safari camp?

Most of the building is made in a workshop under controlled conditions, not on site. Frames, floor cassettes, canvas, fittings and furniture arrive as a kit, so time in remote locations is short and quality is checked before anything leaves the factory.

Why build modular in remote locations?

Remote sites are expensive to supply and hard to staff. Prefabrication cuts the number of deliveries, the size of the site crew and the time on site, and it reduces disturbance to the land.

Can a prefabricated camp be moved or stored?

Some Malapa systems, such as the Nest Tent, pack back into their own floor cassettes for off-season storage or relocation. Others are designed for permanent sites but still go up faster than conventional construction.
